My Passport For Mac Not Showing In Mac

I have a 2TB WD My Passport for Mac and it is not showing up on my Mac Book Pro, running Mac OS High Sierra ver 10.13.6. In the last month it has stopped showing up on the desk top when plugged in and I get messages saying it is overheating after maybe two minutes.

Scanning software for mac reviews. I have a 2TB My Passport External Hard Drive that I have been using for the past few moths with no issues. A couple of days ago I accidently pulled the cord out of the USB port without properly ejecting. Since then, when I plug the hard drive into the computer (directly into the USB port) the indicator light comes on and I can feel it vibrating but it doesn’t show up on the desktop, finder, or disk utility.

I have plugged it into a windows computer and it shows up fine, and even shows up on a different macbook so I’m not sure what the problem could be.
