Healthengage is the only one i am aware of. Never used it, but its multiplatform (windows, mac and linux) and supports several different meters. I installed it to take a look at it for you - seems like its reasonably engineered, but i ran out of time. I you want a hand looking at it, let me know. Its not free. You can evaluate it for 30 days then you have to pay for it.

Food database and diet recommendations are useless, but that seems to be the case with most of them produced by non-diabetics. PM me if you need help. I bought an Apple Macbook back in the spring and I LOVE it!

I have a PC desktop, though, which I use for my OneTouch Diabetes Management Software. I was really bummed when I read on LifeScan's site that their software wasn't compatible with Apple computers and they had no plans to develop an Apple version. I wonder if enough people were to contact LifeScan regarding their desire for an Apple version of their diabetes management software if it would help persuade them that there does need to be an Apple version? Since the market for this type of software is rather small anyway, unless Lifescan developed the original version in a way which was intended to be portable to other operating systems, it would potentially be a large (ie expensive) piece of work. Maybe I should contact them and offer to re-write it for mac. I was wondering if anyone knew of any diabetic software that would work on Mac OS X for a One Touch Ultra Smart? The application itself does not have any built in documentation - no online help or anything, which is rather pathetic.

There is documentation, but its on their website and you need to know to look for it. To get it to work with a Lifescan Smart meter i needed to install a driver - HealthEngage supplied it on their website but neglected to explain how to install it. Not a problem for me but maybe for others. I just happen to have an old lifescan meter from my pre-pump days.

I used the Lifescan cable supplied with the PC version of the software from lifescan. HealthEngage recognized the meter quite happily and downloaded the entries that i had in the meter. I generated a couple of reports from the data i had in the meter - my general comment would be 'ok'. They certainly dont have quite the polished look that the ones from the lifescan software have. Since i cant attach them here, if anyone wants to see them, PM me.

So overall, it does the job. Supports a very long list of meters.

If you are mac only and want to download readings from the meter, this serves its purpose, but seems rather expensive for what it is.
