When trying to import my Microsoft Money 2007 files to Quicken it asks for my Windows Live ID password. No matter what password I use it keeps saying Password Incorrect.
When I try to remove Windows Live ID under password manager, it says Not Removed, Try Again. If I open a new file, it will allow me to open it without a password.
But I can't get rid of Windows Live ID password in the file I need to import to Quicken. Would there be some way to transfer this file to the new file without the password? Hi, Have tried doing that. The password changes on Live ID but not in the Money File. I can sign on to the Money File and work in it. Just cannot import my file to Quicken because of this Windows Live ID password. Its stuck to this file. I was on with a Dell Software tech yesterday for 4 hours trying to correct this to no avail.
No matter what I do to change or remove this Windows ID from this file it will not do it. I think I will have to resort to entering all my Money accounts into a Quicken file and just enter the last balances and start there from scratch. Will keep the Money file for reference only.
Someone from Microsoft Money support gave me to suggestions. To Repair Money File but it would not do it. To get a backup file that is a week or so older, name it, and save in my Desktop and then try to restore.
Haven't tried this yet. Thanks again for your input. It seems Microsoft changed the access to the online portion of the account w/o being particularly clear about doing so. I'd noticed that I wasn't getting fully logged in, but things kept on working and I forgot about it.
So I had the same problems with Quicken import with the rather poor message about format not supported. I ran a repair on my mby file and saved it to another computer (could have copied it, but figured that this might clean up the file and also convert the version). Then I loaded the Microsoft Money Sunset program (free) on the other computer (probably could have done it on the same computer, but I didn't want to disturb the working Money) and imported that file. After exiting it, I tried Quicken on that same computer. Again I entered the previous Microsoft login data, but this time the import worked.
